- Under the supervision and direction of the Chief Building Official, the Building Inspections Intern performs routine residential assigned plan reviews and inspections, assists in building department activities and performs other duties as assigned. The Building Inspector Intern will also provide routine technical assistance to contractors, City Staff and residents regarding MN Building Code requirements and relevant City regulations.
Minimum Requirements
•High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
•Valid Drivers’ LicenseDesirable Requirements
•Currently pursuing (or has obtained) a certificate in Building Inspection Technology, or equivalent.
•Two years Microsoft Office experience including Word and Excel
•MN Certified Building Official or MN Certified Building Official Limited Certification
•Certified ICC Residential Building Inspector
•Certified ICC Residential Plumbing Inspector
•Associate’s Degree in Building Inspections
•Bachelor’s Degree in Building Inspections or an equivalent field
