City of North Branch, MN

The City of North Branch—a growing community of over 12,000 residents spanning 36 square miles—is located just 40 minutes north of the Twin Cities. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Building Official to lead our experienced, dedicated team.

This role is ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, proven leader with the following skills, experience, and training:

Required

• Minnesota Certified Building Official or has 100 points and is eligible to test for CBO.  Must pass the test within six months
• Five years’ experience in construction or building inspections
• Associate’s in building Inspection or a related field with five years of commercial and residential plan review and building inspection experience, or any combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License

Preferred

• MPCA Subsurface Sewage Treatment Certification
• Minnesota Delegation Agreement

The successful candidate will have duties that include administration of the Minnesota State Building Code and applicable city ordinances, plan review and inspections, and collaboration with city staff, contractors, and design professionals. Providing customer service for residents. This position also supervises Building Department staff and the department budget.
