Combination Seasonal Building Inspector

Seasonal position requires knowledge, skills and training to perform activities assigned to the Public Works Building Inspections Division.  This position assists with routine building inspections associated with State Building Codes and recordkeeping related to building permits.

Assist with building code inspections for residential roofing, water heaters, water softeners, windows, decks and siding under the guidance of the City’s Chief Building Official.
Assist building inspectors with residential plan reviews and construction inspections.
Assist front desk staff with phone calls, scheduling of inspection, and answering general code questions for the public.
Maintain accurate records of all permits issued, inspections made, and other actions taken to implement conformance to code and ordinance requirements.
Perform field inspections to ensure that construction, alteration, and demolition work being done complies with the State Building Code and City ordinances.
Investigate building complaints and take appropriate action to resolve questions arising from these complaints or refer them to the Building Official.
